These past 2 months have been difficult for our family with many illnesses. In about 8 weeks we have been to various Doctors 16 times! Sinus infections, flu, fevers, boils, styes and cysts on the eyelid, ear infection (Jonathan's first!), and chest pains and stomach pains.
Two days ago we had to take Jonathan to the ER and after a few hours of observation, he was admitted to the hospital. He has had fevers and severe tummy pains for several days. His pediatrician couldn't find what was causing the pain a few days ago, but after his fever went up to 104 and he had been crying in pain for over 6 hours, they decided to admit him to the hospital so they could observe him better. They put him on an IV and started antibiotics since his blood test showed elevated white blood cell counts. They gave him a shot to help alleviate the pain since he was screaming so hard. After 12 hours of rough going, he got progressively better, so by the next evening they released him to go home. I wish I had taken our camera to the hospital -- Jonathan looked like a pasty white Curious George in his over-sized hospital pajamas!! He is finishing oral antibiotics now, and is mostly fine -- playing happily and pretty energetically -- but at times still has mild pains (he cried out in the night a few times). We are praying for a clear resolution to this!
Kevin has been having strong pain on the lower right side of his chest, difficulty breathing and a deep cough. He has had blood work, x-rays, heart ultrasound, abdominal ultrasound and a breathing test. His cardiologist put him on a turbuhaler for a month but he is still experiencing pain off and on. He is due to go back to the cardiologist for a follow-up soon.
Thanks for all the prayers as we have been battling these illnesses!! Pray for the Doctors to have wisdom as they figure out what is wrong.
